May Was a Month of Movement, Wellness, and Community Connection

May has been a meaningful month for Neighborhood Vitality Corp as we continue our mission of creating healthier, more connected communities through wellness, education, and engagement.

From community events to family-focused wellness activities, this month reminded us how powerful it can be when neighbors come together with a shared commitment to health and vitality.

Connecting with the Community at the PK5K

All the incredible race participants!

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to participate in the PK5K by hosting a community table.

It was inspiring to see so many individuals and families prioritizing movement, wellness, and community connection. We enjoyed meeting neighbors, sharing information about our programs, and connecting with people who are passionate about building healthier lifestyles.

Events like the PK5K highlight the importance of creating accessible opportunities for physical activity and positive community engagement.

Neighborhood Vitality Day Was a Success!

This month also marked our first Neighborhood Vitality Day at Long Dock Park.

The event brought together families, wellness advocates, community organizations, vendors, and local supporters for an afternoon focused on health, wellness, creativity, and connection.

Throughout the day, attendees participated in:

  • 🧘🏽 Yoga and Socacize sessions

  • 🚴 Kids bike helmet fittings and free helmet distribution

  • 🎨 Live art demonstrations and raffles

  • 🥬 Wellness resources and community vendors

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing neighbors of all ages actively engaging in activities that support healthier lifestyles in fun, approachable ways.

Thank You to Our Sponsors and Supporters

Neighborhood Vitality Day and many of our ongoing initiatives would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

Their investment in community wellness helps create accessible opportunities for education, prevention, movement, and connection.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who continues to support the vision of healthier, more vibrant neighborhoods.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the summer months, we remain committed to creating opportunities that encourage wellness, creativity, safety, and community engagement for all ages.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our events this month, stopped by our table, volunteered, donated, or supported our mission in any way.

Together, we continue building stronger and healthier communities—one event, one connection, and one neighbor at a time. 💚
